Traditions: CHRISTMAS IN ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES



Christmas in England :

Christmas is Britain's most popular holiday. On Christmas Eve, children hang stockings great at the foot of the bed or on the chimney for Santa Claus put presents. In England, Christmas dinner was usually eaten at Midday on December 25. It consists of turkey with chestnuts  and the famous pudding who is prepare 5 Sunday before Christmas. Next to plates they are crackers. Two children pull and a firecracker explodes.



Christmas in Australia :

In Australia, Christmas is celebrated in summer. Presents are opened the morning of Christmas to think about Jesus. A lot of Australia spend Christmas outside on the beach. A great Australian tradition is a concert of singing Christmas, outdoors with candles. There are several Christmas songs like Christmas Day or Six White Boomers.


Christmas in America :

Christmas is very popular in America. The different immigrants who populated this country have brought their traditions. They prepare garlands of popcorn to hang in the house. We can find in all the house the "eggnog" who is offered to all guests in welcome. Eggnog is made with milk, egg yolk, sugar of rum and cinnamon.
