An equestrian sport: Polo


         Polo is played on horseback and was born in Babylone in 2500 BC. The British founded the first Polo Club in 1859 in the Himalayas. The Himalaya was a British colony.
In the 19th century, British colonists introduced this sport in America.

Rules of the game:

                Two teams of four players are in confrontation on a 275 meters long and 145 meters wide ground.
                The aim of the game is to mark as many goals as possible.
                When the ball is moving, no rider is allowed to cross the « line » (direction of the ball).
 
The World Cup  :                                                                        

The World Cup is organized
by the FIP (the International  Federation of Polo)
and takes place every 3 years.
The first edition was in 1989.
