Bob Marley, the king of reggae*

He was born in 1945 in Jamaica and died on 1981 in Florida. His real name is Robert Nesta Marley. He was a singer, a songwriter and a musician.  He played the guitar, the piano, the saxophone, the harmonica and the percussion.                                                                                       

His children, David, Cedella, Sharon and Stephan created a band: Ziggy Marley.                                                                                                              Bob Marley was a member of the Rastafari movement, which was a key element in the development of reggae.

A new theme park: Harry Potter's Wizarding World

The Wizaining World of Harry Potter is a new theme park in Orlando, California. This park is part of a theme "Universal's Island of Avdenture". Its inauguration was on the 17th of june 2010 and it opened on the 18th of june 2010. There are reproduction of Poudlard Castle and lots of attrations so I think this theme park is magic. "Harry Potter the Forbidden Journey" is only attraction in the world.

This theme park makes the world of Harry Potter alive so it's fantastic but it's expensive because one ticket costs $85. There is a souvenir shop, it's also here that people can buy a photo of themselves in the attractions.

TV Series: Desperate Housewives

 

Desperate Housewives is an American series . This series is broadcast on M6, it is the 7^th season . 

Desperate Housewives speaks about the lives of four women:                                                                                 

-Bree Vandcamp is a strict woman , clean and tidy . Bree is a widow 

-Gabrielle Solis is a beautiful woman (old top model) married to a businessman .

-Lynette Scavo is a housewife with five children ,  married to Tom Scavo the boss of the business                                                                      

 -Finally , Susan Mayer , my favorite. She is a funny woman , blundering, not lucky ! She had trouble getting a love life, but now is married with Mike, a plumber  .

A recipe: Cookies

 

Cookies!

Ingredients:
80g soft butter
125g brown sugar
1 packet vanilla sugar
1 egg
150g flour
100g chocolate chips
1 tablespoon milk
Preparation :

preheat the oven, th. 6 (180 °). Be helped by an adult!
Butter 2 pastry baking trays.

In a salad bowl mix the butter, the brown sugar and the vanilla sugar.

Add the egg, mix, incorporate the flour.

Add finally chips, and milk. Mix well

Make 20 balls of dough by using of a coffee spoon.

Deposit 10 balls on a pastry baking tray,
spacing them out as much
 as possible and crush every ball down
to 1 cm  thick with the smooth of
your hand! Then also make 10 other balls on a new
plate.

And put in the oven bake for 12 min.

Summary of the game:
It's a computer game which is set in the context of an imaginary
Third World War. A campaign we lead at the four corners of the world to confront the Russians. From Manhattan to London or Paris, the game presents fighting situations one after the other. It offers settings which copy those of big Hollywoodian war films. The game exists in a mode multiplayer and a mode coop.
The game exists in PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
Opinion about the game:
The pyrotechnic effects are amazing. The stagings, lights and pictures are very spectacular. The critics criticize violence and the realism of the game and they accuse its negative effect on the players.

An equestrian sport: Polo

         Polo is played on horseback and was born in Babylone in 2500 BC. The British founded the first Polo Club in 1859 in the Himalayas. The Himalaya was a British colony.

In the 19th century, British colonists introduced this sport in America.

Rules of the game:

•                Two teams of four players are in confrontation on a 275 meters long and 145 meters wide ground.

•                The aim of the game is to mark as many goals as possible.

•                When the ball is moving, no rider is allowed to cross the « line » (direction of the ball).

School events: German Correspondents and the School Party.

               The correspondents

Last Wednesday, the German correspondents arrived at the high school “ Lycée Robert Garnier”    and we went back home.  On Thursday morning, they spent the morning at the lycee and they went in French lesson. Later, they came to the college. On Friday, they visited the Museum of Laval. In the evening we went to the party, we had a good time, the DJ was very good. ...................................................
They went to Paris on Monday, they visited the Eiffel Tower, Monmartre, the Louvre ...
We will visit the museum of Chambord on Tuesday and we will stop in Blois.
The German were surprised that there is a canteen because in their school, over there, there isn't any.
In Germany, pupils can't leave college when they want and they are allowed to have their mobiles in class. On he opposite, their teachers are very strict and they do not laugh in class.


             The "boom"

The boom of the college was Friday, October 14. Only students from 3 rd or 4 th year could go.
It started at 19 o'clock and ended at 23 o'clock . The evening was spent in the college self.
Many students came. Some teachers were present. We could eat or drink at the bar.

MOVIE REVIEW : Final Destination 5

Final Destination 5 is a horror film directed by Steven Quale. It was released on August, 31st 2,011 in 3D. The main actors are Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell, Ellen Wroe, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, P. J. Byrne, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner, Miles Fisher and Tony Todd. In France, the movie is not recommended for children under 12.

During a trip in a bus with his friends, Sam starts being nervous, he feels something bad is going to happen. While they cross the North Bay Bridge, he has a vision : the bridge will collapse and everybody is going to die. Sam warns the others and they survive the accident. During the funeral of the other motorists, the undertaker tells Sam that they should not have survived, and that, one by one, Death will come to kill them.

Final Destination 5 ranked #3 at the weekend box office with $18.4 million behind Rise of the Planet of the Apes ($27.5 million), which holds the top spot for two weeks, and The Help ($25.5 million). It was also the third biggest Final Destination opening to date behind 2009's The Final Destination ($27.4 million) and 2006's Final Destination 3 ($19.1 million).

The shooting takes place in Vancouver, where the first three films were shot. The opening was filmed on Lions Gate Bridge.

I think it's a good film. The novelty of this movie is a new rule : you can kill someone and «get a life» or be killed by Death. The film is more based on suspense than first one and second Final Destination. The 3D works very well during all the movie. The end is really surprising ! It's a good movie to be seen between friends.

Selena Marie Gomez was born on the 22 July 1992 in the USA. She is 19 years old. She has been in lots of films and TV shows. Early in her career, Selena played small roles. She started acting at 7 years old and she was discovered by the Disney Channel in 2004, when she was 12 years old. She had a role in Hannah Montana. Now she has a fantastic lifestyle and earns lots of money. When Selena was born, her mother was only 16 years old and Selena grew up as an only child. They had very little money. She is a talented musician too. She sings on the soundtracks of her films and formed the group Selena Gomez and the Scene in 2009. Her single ''Who Says'' was a big hit in 2011. She supports many charities ( associations ). In 2009, she became the youngest Unicef (It is an association for poor children ) ambassador and went to Ghana to meet poor children who don't have access to clean water. Many fans consider Selena to be a role model (a person to follow ). One priority of Selena is education but it is not easy because she must combine school and her career. Like many young stars, Selena did not go to school, she studied at home. She got her high school diploma ( Bac ) in 2010. In 2011, Selena was the star of the film Monte Carlo with Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy ( they are actresses ).

RUGBY

Rugby is a sport intended for men. This sport is played with an oval ball. With a drop goal you win 3 points, with a try you win 5 points and with a transformation you win 2 points. So you win 7 points.

World Cup:

The World Cup of Rugby 2011 takes place in New Zealand. There are 20 teams, divided into 4 pools (A: where there is the French team, B, C, and D) who participate in the World Cup. The teams who are qualified for the quarter-finals are:

- England/France

- Ireland/Wales

- New Zealand/Argentina

- South Africa/Australia

 French Team:

Since the beginning of the World Cup, the French team hasn't played  an excellent rugby. But they have successfully qualified for quarter-final. They arrived 2nd of their pool. The match against England will be important and very difficult but they are prepared and motivated.

Everybody is behind the “Quinze de France” and we encourage them for their match.
